Warrior Tot Learn to Skate Skill Level Progression (3-5 years)


Parent & Tot First Strides (Pre-Skating Development)- Class size 1:6 (Teacher Ratio)
BHOH offers 45 Minute Sessions where the parents join their aspiring young skaters on the ice in the parent and tot instructional skating program.  The program is designed for children with no to little skating experience to introduce skaters to the ice. 
Tot Bronze (Level 1) – Class size: 1:6 (Teacher Ratio)
BHOH offers 45 minute Group Lessons without parents.  The Program is designed for children with little to no skating experience to introduce skaters to the ice and develop their progress into the next advancing levels.  Our Tot Learn to Skaters will be taught how to fall down & stand up with balance, use proper posture technique, march forwards and gain an understanding of a push and glide sequence and be introduced to making snow.
Tot Silver (Level 2 & 3) – Class size: 1:6 (Teacher Ratio)
BHOH offers 45 minute Group lessons without parents.  The program is designed for children with previous skating experience or who have passed BHOH Bronze (Level 1).  Students who take this class will be introduced to the fundamental movements of skating forwards using a push, glide and snow plow stop sequence.  Skaters should all be able to fall down and get up without assistance of the instructors.  Within the class, teachers will introduce the one-foot glide, begin understanding the concept of edges and sculling (1 foot inside and outside edges) and be introduced to marching and skating backwards (edges and sculling)
Tot Gold (Level 4 & 5) – Class Size: 1:6 (Teacher Ratio)
BHOH offers 45 minute Group Lessons without parents.  The program is designed for experienced children or who have passed BHOH Silver (Level 2 & 3).  Students who take this class will continue to work on skating backwards, confidently stopping both directions and develop their edges into crossover, slaloms and turns.  As children advance through their skills our teachers will work on developing the kids to make the transfer into hockey, ringette or to continue onto the Youth Learn to Skate Program.

Warrior Youth Learn to Skate Skill Level Progression (6-12 years)
